As a result of feedback from research, development and users opinions, CSR Gyprock has announced its improved Wet Area Base Coat is now easier to apply, shows higher quality results and allows quicker recoating.

A pre-mixed, low VOC jointing compound, Wet Area Base Coat has been the product of choice for jointing Gyprock plasterboards and Cemintel fibre cement in areas subject to high moisture and humidity.

The new formula allows for all three coats to be done within two days, so tradesman can complete the job in a shorter timeframe. It is also significantly easier to apply by trowel, increasing efficiency for the user for any type of job, and dries smoother for a high-quality finish.

The moisture resistance from Wet Area Base Coat makes it ideal for joints in wet areas such as bathrooms and laundries. CSR Lightweight Systems general manager of marketing Troy Green says that CSR Gyprock strives for ease of use and efficiency for plasterers.

“We have listened to our customers and made improvements to an existing product that would benefit contractors and builders by speeding up the application process and still producing high-quality results that they can be proud of,” he says.

The new formula is available in a 15kg bucket nation-wide at Gyprock trade stores, Gyprock specialist distributors and major hardware stores.
