Big River Group acquires Pine Design Truss and Timber

Construction industry leader Big River Group is expanding its national network and increasing its product offering with the acquisition of Adelaide-based timber supply company Pine Design Truss and Timber.

The acquisition of Pine Design increases Big River Groups’ opportunity to combine the strong and successful operating histories of both businesses to create a larger, more diverse business.

Pine Design has operated for over 30 years and has a strong South Adelaide client base. Its strengths lie in manufacturing roof and floor trusses and as a supplier of timber and building products. Combined with Big River’s power in the residential, commercial and civil markets, the two represent a huge business opportunity.

“We are pleased to be able to offer the customers of South Australia the opportunity of an expanded product offer and experienced team to increase the services we can provide for them and their businesses,” Big River chief executive Jim Bindon says.

“We believe both companies will benefit greatly and also believe that our customers will appreciate the wider range of services and products.”

Pine Design will continue to operate in the same way with the existing manager Chris Wray remaining with the business.
