Kärcher launches world’s first dry ice cleaning technology
Kärcher, the global leader in cleaning technology, has launched a new product using dry ice blasting, the first of its kind in the cleaning industry. The IB 10/8 L2P is the only machine on the market with integrated dry ice production, which allows industries such as the construction industry to reduce lead times, dry ice waste and improve efficiencies of cleaning using a dry ice method.
Typical dry ice blasting requires the purchase of dry ice pellets from a specialist supplier. The pellets have a limited lifespan and often last no longer than a few days.
Knowing the exact amount of ice required for the cleaning task at hand can be difficult; order too much and you have waste or don’t order enough and you can’t complete the clean. Dry ice blasting in this way also requires planning to order the pellets ahead of time and taking into account lead times for delivery.
Kärcher’s latest innovation, the IB 10/8 L2P, removes these challenges. It produces the ice pellets required to clean on demand from liquid CO2. This is easily available in bottles and can be stored for long periods of time. The Ice Blaster creates the pellets and uses them as a spray agent. The method is non-abrasive, produces zero spray agent residues and allows users to remove dirt from sensitive surfaces with minimal effort.
The IB 10/8 L2P works particularly well in the construction sector where the maintenance of machinery is essential to machine operation. The IB 10/8 L2P is able to remove exhaust gas residues, oil, grease or wax residues on axle components or bearings. The dry ice blasting method is a valuable, time-saving support for on-the-go spot cleaning.
It can remove dirt and stains from door rebates, fixtures, fittings, buttons, upholstery, box covers and ventilation slots efficiently and without any moisture.
