The largest branch of the CFMEU construction division, the Vic/Tas branch, has announced its merger with the South Australian branch.

The Vic/Tas branch has the largest membership across the country and has a long history of negotiating with employers on behalf of members and has proudly never compromised on safety standards.

The partnership at the request of the South Australian branch will benefit all its members with the sharing of resources and the commitment from the Vic/Tas branch and its executive team to support the SA branch and its members.

CFMEU South Australian acting secretary Andrew Sutherland says: “The merger is a great thing for SA members. The experience and wealth of knowledge the Vic/Tas executive team bring to the table can only ensure positive outcomes for our members.”

Vic/Tas branch president Rob Graauwmans and senior vice-president Joe Myles attended a meeting in South Australia this week to discuss the merger and how it can best benefit the South Australian branch membership.
