Nominations are now open for Standard Australia’s 2024 Standards Awards, in recognising Australian individuals, accredited Standards Development Organisations (SDOs) and committees who have made significant contributions to standards development.

Winners are chosen by a panel including Standards Australia’s executives and standards development senior managers. Previous winners are eligible for renomination and self-nominations are welcome, with winners to be announced in May.

Award categories include the W.R. Hebblewhite Medal, awarded to an individual who has significantly contributed to standardisation at both national and international levels. The Meritorious Contribution Award (National) recognises individuals or organisations that have made substantial contributions to national standards development, including problem-solving, research, innovative thinking, and effective representation of their industry or sector.

Also, up for grabs is the Emerging Leader Award, recognising emerging leaders who have actively participated in committee debates, championed relevant projects or initiatives and effectively represented their industry or sector as well as the Innovation Award for those who have championed innovative ways of developing standards or delivering them to end users, demonstrating the vision to imagine disruptive change and the drive to deliver it.

Finally, the Outstanding Committee Award recognises standards committees that have gone the extra mile, making a positive impact on the industry and improving the quality of life within communities through their published standards.

Nominations can be made on the Standards Australia website with nominations closing on Thursday, 21 March.
