This year’s ‘I’m a Gyprocker’ Awards drew over 200 entries from Gyprocker contractors all over the country.

Entrants were asked to submit their work and a selfie. Over 9,000 votes were cast to award the People’s Choice winners while the other winners were selected by a panel of the 2018 award winners.

The campaign aims to recognise and reward the great work that Australia’s craftsmen do with Gyprock products. The social media based campaign saw entrants receiving over one million views.

Regional winners were announced at award ceremonies in Suncorp Stadium, Optus Stadium, Marvel Stadium and Bank West Stadium.

CSR Lightweight Systems general manager of marketing Troy Green says: “The 2019 Gyprocker Awards returned to celebrate the industry, quality craftsmanship and the pride that plasterers take in their work. The campaign allowed us to recognise the plasterers that choose the brand every day, and make up its community.”

In QLD, the winners were: Master Craftsman – Sam Killalea from KG Interiors; Best innovative use of plasterboard – Jonathan Agostinelli from Fast-Tracked Constructions; Best work by an apprentice – Tyson Goodall from Southpak; People’s Choice – Peter Johnston from Impact Linings.

In VIC/TAS, the winners were: Master Craftsman – Sami Alikozai from AhmadsPlaster; Best innovative use of plasterboard – Brad Grigg from Signature Plaster Pty Ltd; Best work by an apprentice – Tye Branley from Topshelf Plastering; People’s Choice – Dakoda Cole from Kubicki Plastering.

In NSW, the winners were: Master Craftsman – Michael Davy from Davy Constructions Pty Ltd; Best innovative use of plasterboard – Dean Saunders from DS Interiors Lining; Best work by an apprentice – Kadek Swantara from Dream Linings; People’s Choice – Tsering Hollywood from Snowlion Plastering.

In WA/SA/NT, the winners were: Master Craftsman – Wayne Clavell from Wizard Home and Property Maintenance; Best innovative use of plasterboard – Clinton Kimes from CK Ceilings; Best work by an apprentice – Connor Hingston from ACR Ceilings; People’s Choice – Anthony Romeo from ACR Ceilings.
