Uniden releases hi-vis, heavy-duty UHF radios for tradies

Uniden Australia has released the UH850S 5W UHF waterproof CB handheld radio in two new colours, orange and lime, built extra rugged for use on work sites and in other outdoor environments.

The compact device enables two-way communication and is ideal for professionals who need a heavy-duty radio for various conditions. A metal alloy chassis, waterproof design and 30-hour battery life will meet worksite demands, paired with the high visibility colours which make the radios easy to locate. The UH850S radios come charged with 5W power, delivering up to 17km of range.

The UH850S Series contains Master Scan technology, designed to ensure minimal disruptions for continuous communication and lets users seamlessly communicate on a group of channels. If the current channel is interrupted by outsiders, all radios in the group will automatically jump to a new clear channel allowing uninterrupted communication to continue.

The UH850S-O and L operates in the most intense environmental conditions and has four different audio level settings (normal, bass, midrange and high) to provide a natural voice enhancer for sharp clarity and performance. The Smart Key feature allows users to toggle between voice enhancer, instant channel or call tone to customise to the situation.

A voice scramble function enables private communication by scrambling the voice signal, preventing other users without special descrambling equipment from understanding the conversation. Compatible Uniden units will be able to understand the signal.
