Plantation Homes has been awarded Best Use of Steel Frame Housing at the annual Master Builders Queensland Awards, held on Friday 13 July.

The award recognised Plantation Homes’ work on the charity home House for Life, located in Springfield Lakes, which was donated to the Mater Little Miracles Foundation to help raise funds for healthcare and medical research programs at Mater Hospitals.

The company has a longstanding relationship with Master Hospital in Brisbane through the House for Life program and has built and auctioned seven house and land packages for the program since 2007.

Plantation Homes marketing manager Amanda Reilly says the Master Builders Queensland award reflects the company’s passion and commitment in designing and building homes for such a worthy cause.

“This philanthropic project was special as the charity home became a wonderful family home and all funds went directly to Mater Hospital.  To receive such special recognition from Master Builders is truly humbling, and the fact this was for our charity home project makes it even more special.”

Plantation Homes partnered with suppliers including Bluescope Steel and Stoddart to develop the customised frame of the four-bedroom home that also has five designated living spaces.

“The team at BlueScope is thrilled to be part of the House for Life project with the supply and donation of the house frame manufactured from TRUECORE steel by Stoddart Steel House Frames,” says Bluescope Steel business development manager for Australia and New Zealand Tanya Gourlay.

“This precision engineered, pre-fabricated frame for Plantation Homes reflects our commitment to helping builders construct quality homes efficiently.  We are proud that we have played a role with Plantation Homes receiving such a great accolade from Master Builders Queensland and to support such a worthy cause.”

Plantation Homes is now well underway in its eighth House for Life home construction for The Mater Foundation.
