Navman MiVUE Dash Cam Range 2020-21
In Australia, more than 20% of motor insurance claims* use dash cam footage so if the other driver has proof and you don’t, there’s a high chance you’ll lose.
Protection from other drivers is the number one reason people buy dash cams and why the market is growing so rapidly. Of course it isn’t just about getting the footage, it’s also about getting quality footage where information like identifying number plates, street signage and traffic lights is critical, and equally important is having the information on how fast you were travelling (and the other car) and the direction and G-Forces of impact.
Navman has been designing and manufacturing dash cams in its own factories for more than a decade, and uses quality components, like glass lenses (rather than plastic) and the best available sensors to capture the crispest images in whatever weather or light conditions.
There are models that include rear camera, as well as those that include speed and safety camera alerts to help you drive safely, legally and inexpensively, as well as ADAS alerts to warn if you are moving out of your lane. Add a SmartBox ($79) and you can activate ‘park mode’ on many models so the cameras record if your vehicle is bumped while it’s parked.
This year sees the introduction of the MiVUE 1000 and 1100 Sensor XL models with the biggest sensor in any dash cam anywhere in the world. This enables it to provide more light into the lens and capture incredible detail even in very dark environments.
This year Navman is also introducing the most feature-packed dash cam from Navman– the MiCam, which includes a host of features including navigation, Full HD 1080P recording, Sony Starvis Sensor, all the safety alerts and the ability to Bluetooth with your phone. It will even read your messages out loud to you if you choose! MiCam also comes as a 4WD and larger vehicle model (MiCam Explore) and as MiCam Truck for professional truck drivers.
All Navman MiVUE products are built and tested for harsh Australian climates up to 70 degrees Celsius.
Here is this year’s line-up from Navman:
With a 2.7” screen, this value-packed dash cam provides plenty of protection on the road. It records in Full HD 1080P and has GPS tagging which provides the precise location of any accident, as well as a 3-Axis G-sensor which gives unambiguous information like the direction and speed of impact, which can be critical for insurance claims.
This dash cam includes all the great safety features from speed and safety camera alerts that can be updated free every month, to driver fatigue warnings and ADAS alerts which let you know if you are moving out of your lane, travelling too close to the car in front or if another driver is encroaching on you. The camera is Full HD 1080P to provide high quality vision and comes with GPS Tagging that shows the precise spot of any accident or event, as well as a 3-Axis G-Sensor which gives direction and G-forces of any impact.
MiVUE830 Dual Camera
You’re covered front and back with this dash cam. If your vehicle has ever been hit from behind, you’ll know the benefit of having dash cam rear and front to protect you from false claims. Each camera records in Full HD 1080P 30 frames per second with Premium Starvis™ Low Light Sensor. The device also comes with free monthly safety camera alerts, as well as speed camera and speeding alerts, and driver fatigue alerts.
MiVUE1000 Sensor XL
World first technology. Delivers the very best possible video quality in a dash cam, it works by using a sensor twice the size of any other that enables it to capture more light, meaning you’ll see greater detail in footage than you ever thought possible. With Full HD 1080P 60 frames per seconds it is perfect for filming fast moving objects as it keeps the footage smooth and details crisp. Footage is tagged with GPS location and the 3-Axis G-sensor provides exact details of the G-Forces and direction of impact. It also automatically detects and saves footage from any change in motion or an impact, and even if parked (with the addition of SmartBox accessory).
MiVUE 1100 Sensor XL DC
With front and rear camera, this records the sharpest, smoothest and clearest dash cam footage period. The front camera comes with a super large 2/3” Low Light Premium XL Sensor allowing the MiVUE1100 Sensor XL DC to film in greater detail than ever before by pulling in more light, and therefore more definition. At Full HD 1080P 60 frames per second it is made for filming fast moving objects.
The world’s first Full HD 1080P recording dash cam that not only captures critical information in an incident with its 3-Axis G-sensor and GPS-tagged video. Plus, there is no need to be tempted to touch your phone, this dash camera can read your phone messages out loud to you while you drive.
MiCam will not only free up your windscreen, it will free up your mind to focus on the journey, giving you the right information exactly when you need it. Live traffic alerts, accurate ETAs and clear visual and verbal navigation. You’ll be able to compare the sign-posted speed limit with your actual speed at a glance, and there is also a nifty countdown bar that shows distance to the next speed or red-light camera or school zone.
Like the MiCam GPS, this device has every feature you’ll ever need to get out and enjoy driving safely with Australian and NZ maps, and 140,000km of popular 4WD tracks and POIs. A sensational dash cam with Premium Starvis™ Low Light Sensor that records in excellent clarity. If you’re in an accident, you’ll get all the information you need from precise location to speed and direction of impact, thanks to the GPS and 3-Axis G-sensor.
The first device of its kind in the world – MiCam Truck has been built on an Android platform to give drivers the ultimate flexibility and information to drive safer. With a Premium Starvis™ Low Light Sensor, the built-in dash cam films a wide angle of footage of the road ahead and captures detailed information even in low light to provide the best proof of fault. Navigation can be tailored to suit your needs – with Truck Mode your type of routing including B-Double is given, visual and verbal alerts for speed, safety, red light cameras and fatigue, a low engine noise voice alert and you can choose the layout on the 7” screen to show the level of detail you want.
